Chocolate-Chip Hazelnut-Almond Chocolate Brownies

Read that name again! Is it a mouthful? Yes? Haha, that’s what made it so good!

I really like this recipe because there’s no milk/cream/dairy required so I didn’t have to find any substitutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup wheat flour (OR 1 cup gluten-free flour mix + 2 Tbsp flax flour)

  • 3/4 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 cup cacao powder

  • 3/4 cup almond powder

  • 1 cup coconut sugar (or sweetener of choice)

  • 1/2 cup melted coconut oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips (I cut up leftover bits of dark chocolate)

  • 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts

  • 3/4 cup room temp. water

 Method

  1. Sift together wheat flour (or GF flour + flax flour), baking powder, salt and cacao powder.

  2. Add almond powder and coconut sugar. Mix well.

  3. Add coconut oil, vanilla extract, chocolate chips, hazelnuts and water.

  4. Mix gently till just combined.

  5. Pour into a lined baking dish.

  6. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
